Central MN Ice Fishing Report Jan. 29, 2023

Lake conditions are improving as the snow has settled in most of the slushy areas giving the cold a chance to freeze the slush. You still have to be cautious and avoid drifted areas as some slush will remain.

On smaller lakes and in the bays crappies and bluegills can be found hanging out in and around the weeds, but on many lakes, crappies have pushed out to the deeper basin areas. Small jigging spoons tipped with wigglers and small jigs and plastics have been catching most of the fish for us.

You can also find bass and northerns cruising the weeds looking for a meal. I was on a weed flat for panfish and the largemouth wouldn't leave my VMC Bull Spoon alone. You can also try some tip-ups and minnows in these same areas.

Get out there and give it a shot. If you would like more information or to book a trip contact us at:
