Central MN Fishing Report - August 7, 2025

Fishing has been pretty good, we have been catching a variety of fish lately including walleyes, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, sunfish and a few crappies in the mix.

Walleyes have spread out and some can still be found hanging in and around the weeds, some are out on deeper structure and then some of the big ones are suspended in deeper water off the edges of structure and in basin areas. We have been locating fish with down and side imaging and then targeting them with LiveScope. Fish have been caught using a variety of techniques including, a drop-shot and a nightcrawler, a VMC Tungsten MoonEye jig tipped with a crawler or a Rapala Crush City Mooch Minnow, and a few on Jerk Baits.

We have been catching some nice bluegills, and they have been found on the outside edges of the weed lines in most lakes and some are out eating bugs in basin areas. We are seeing them in 8-12 feet on dirtier stained lakes and out to 20 plus feet on clearer lakes. We have caught a few crappies mixed in with the bluegills, but they are usually a little higher up in the water column. We have been catching them on leeches on a drop-shot, a small jig tipped with small leeches, a piece of nightcrawler, wax worms, and also small plastics.

Get out there and give it a shot. If you would like more information or to book a trip contact us at:
