We have had a few storms blow through recently and the bite has been up and down. Fishing has been pretty good before the storms and then the fish are a little lethargic the next morning but the bite picks up as the day goes on. We have been catching most of our walleyes in and around the weeds using leeches and night crawlers on either a drop-shot or a jig casted and retrieved. The bobber bite has been tough, we see fish swim up to check out the bait and then they move on without biting. LiveScope has been key in finding these fish as some are buried down in the weeds and others are suspended up higher in the weed tops.
Walleyes have been following jerk baits but we are not getting many to hit, but that bite should be picking up soon.
We have also been picking up some nice smallmouth and largemouth bass in the mix.
Bluegills can also be found in the weeds and some are also schooled up on the outside edges of the weeds. Small jigs tipped with worms, leeches and plastics fished straight down have been the best way to catch some panfish.
Get out there and give it a shot. If you would like more information or to book a trip contact us at:
